The concept for Taste New Zealand began when our Founder, Anthony (Tony) Williams, Sr., owned and operated an organic Macadamia nut farm in the Far North and Hokianga, New Zealand. His Dad’s packaging brand was “Nuts in the Hokianga,” and the nuts were just incredible, large, buttery, soft, and full of nourishment from organic coastal farming. There was absolutely nothing like it on the planet. The nuts were larger than those of other brands and full of flavour. His Father produced a variety of chocolates, including milk and dark.
Tony, then living in Los Angeles, was interested in introducing his father’s product to the world. However, David reluctantly declined, as he wouldn’t have been able to capitalize on the potential of the global or US markets.
Today, building on the initial concept, Taste New Zealand brings the best of New Zealand products, produced in naturally organic environments, to the global market. Taste New Zealand is a broker that helps New Zealand producers expand their products into international markets.

Anthony is a native Kiwi from Gisborne and the Bay of Islands. He held senior positions at some of the top-rated and most popular hospitality brands in Auckland, NZ, and London, UK, in the 1990s, before settling in Los Angeles as a technology Cloud entrepreneur in 2000, where he founded a leading MSP and Cloud company, Global IT (https://globalit.com). Along his path, he founded an import company, Kiwi Products, in 2001. The company focused on the highest-quality, freshest New Zealand lamb for “Mr. Lamb” in Los Angeles. Kiwi Products imported weekly air freight and monthly sea freight containers, serving Los Angeles lamb restaurateurs with New Zealand products.
